Both Andrew and Jesse draw out contrasting pictures of Jesus—Andrew highlights how the Lion of Judah is the Lamb that was slain, and Jesse follows by noting that the Jesus of Revelation is not a different person, with different priorities, temperament and level of aggression than the Jesus we learn about in the gospels.
Reflection: Think about which way you are most likely to think of Jesus and how that impacts the choices you make in your average day. What do you need to keep in mind going forward to keep both pictures of Jesus in correct tension?
