INTERVIEW WITH DR. BETTY PRIES

Discussion Questions

  1. Dr. Pries doesn’t think we have a theology of the Trinity—is she right?

  2. Have you considered that we were “made to be limited” as Betty claims? Does that ever strike you unfair or frustrating?

  3. Pries says the Trinity is a structure that is “embedded.. into what it means to be on this planet and what it means to be a person.” What do you think she means by that? Do you see any evidence that this is true?

  4. Do you find her description of the water wheel helpful? How about the description: God is formlessness, Jesus is form and the Holy Spirit is transform? Do her descriptions help to understand the relationship between the three persons of the Trinity?
